When reading this article provided by atlassian: https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver073/connecting-jira-applications-to-mysql-861253043.html there is a description on granting additional privileges like this:

GRANT SELECT,INSERT,UPDATE,DELETE,CREATE,DROP,REFERENCES,ALTER,INDEX on <JiraDatabase>.* TO '<SQLUser>'@'<ServerHostname>' IDENTIFIED BY '<Password>';
flush privileges;

So the solution to the problem is to execute this query for your database. Remember to replace the < > placeholders.
